With a planetarium, a toy train, museum and a unique floral clock, Sayaji Baug is one of the most popular tourist spots in the city of Vadodara. Vadodara city has a Beautiful Popular Museum. The museum was built in 1894 to resemble the Victoria and Albert Museum of London. Sayaji Baug Museum is to be a one of the Most Famous Museum in the Country. Sayaji Baug Museum designed by the famous architect R. F. Chisholm.
Sayaji Baug Museum is collection of art, sculpture, ethnography and ethnology. Sayaji Baug also known as Kamati Baug will charm you with its sprawling green lawns and a multitude of Varieties of Floras. It was built by SayajiRoa in 1879 A.D. and covers an extensive area of 113 acres.
The Egyptian mummy and a skeleton of a blue Whale are major attractions in the museum. And other famous art like Akota bronzes dating the 5th century A.D. A collection of Mughul miniatures, a fully-fledged gallery of Tibetan Arts etc. Sayaji Baug’s Paintings are not only original but masterpieces at the picture gallery.
The museum is open from 10:30am-5pm. Entry for Indians: Rs. 10/-, for Foreigners: Rs. 200/-.
