Hamirsar Lake in Bhuj Gujarat – History of Hamirsar Lake Bhuj
Hamirsar Lake one of the beautiful lakes placed in Kutch, Gujarat around 450 years old. This lake is named after the founder of Bhuj – Hamir Rao. As Bhuj is a dry and hot summer season place. Hamirsar is considered as an oasis between arid and saline Kutch. The ruler and king have made this lake to fulfill domestic people requirement.
One the heritage festival named as Augan celebrated in Kutch at a time when lake overflows in rainy. And ladoos and dinner is offered to people after tradition pooja. The festival has been celebrated recently 2010 by Kutchi people when lake was overflowed. The recreation activities at this place made Hamirsar the point of attraction.
Hamirsar Lake has spreader over 28 acres having a beautiful mid lake garden like as Kankaria Lake in Ahmedabad. For this reason this lake is one of the center point for people. This lake is one of the historical places which are made in ruler Jadeja.
People enjoy swimming and playing here. Hamirsar is a place to found some natural hot shades in summer. Hamirsar lakeside gives a spectacular view of Aina Mahal, Prag Mahal, and Kutch museum while walking on it.
