Koteshwar is a Shiva Mahadev Temple which is located in the Lakhpat Taluka of Kutch Gujarat. This temple has won by Ravana from where the story has begun of this temple, Ravana was a boon of Lord Shiva. This Shiva temple has a great spiritual and aesthetic power. The temple is known as Kotilingeshwar Temple.
The temple is situated on high side overlooking from sea. Koteshwar Temple is the last out point of Human construction at westernmost limit of India and which is also a breaking point of skyline to the horizon flat east from where glow light of Karachi and Pakistan can be seen in a clear night. The excellent sunset point that is never shown that is the main reason of touristers to visit this kind of places.
This Temple is around 215km from Bhuj, the head Quarters of Bhuj, and it is 4km away from Narayan Sarovar. Kotashwar Temple has renovated by many rulers of Kutch before many centuries. Koteshwar was an ancient port but now it is a fishing village which is more famous for Koteshwar Shiva Temple. People come here for Arti and pooja , Darshan . After that Prashad is distributed to all.
