Prag Mahal the oldest century palace located next to Aina Mahal in Bhuj Gujarat. Prag Mahal is a 19th century palace. Prag Mahal made in a time of kings, and it is memorable place after Rao Pragmaji 2. The beautifully designed this Mahal is designed by Henry Saint Wikins in its Italian style.
The whole palace is made of Italian marbles and sand stone from Rajasthan, the main hall designed with rotting taxidermy. After that Durbar hall with classical infrastructure and long light jummars with royal King’s photos. The Mahal also contains the Corinthian Pillars, the jail work represented by European plants and animals. The Mahal with 45 foot long clock tower from that we can see entire Bhuj. The nicely structured and made a small temple in courtyard behind this.
Gujarati films as well Bollywood Famous films “Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam” and “Lagaan” have been shoted here. This Mahal has totally damaged after the dangerous earthquake in 2001. Today palace and its tower have been repaired after Bollywood Actor Amitabh Bachchan took interest in restoration of it. This tower and clock are repaired are now open for public viewing.
