Speaking about Rajkot, Niranjan Shah, Secretary of Saurashtra Cricket Association (SCA), said, “Rajkot might have been invited as the city now which has a new cricket stadium with floodlights, facilitating day-and-night matches.”

In IPL 2015 Rajkot team name are based on the area of Rajkot City. Like Manhar Plot, Devpara, Chunarawad, Bajrangwadi, Popatpara, Hasanwadi, Kothariya Road, Ramnathpara.
